Had a really enjoyable day with our guide and driver; decided to do this trip as had visited HCM couple of times before and quite recently so it was interesting to visit a different town: we particularly liked that our guide was flexible about what we wanted to see and the length of the tour - there was also no taking us to shops /factories; a very pleasant and informative guide as d would highly recommend

We joined our Phong Nha Discovery tour directly from our accommodation in Phong Nha. The tour we chose was the Paradise and Phong Nha cave tour. Paradise Cave is the longest dry cave in Asia, and Phong Nha Cave is a wet cave with an amazing underground river so both are very different experiences.
Our tour guide "Chocolate" was excellent, providing us with an entertaining and informative tour.
The morning tour to Paradise Cave tour does require a walk up a relatively steep pathway for about 500m plus a stair down into the cave (approx 300 steps) which you have to climb back up on your way out. Having said that, we didn't feel rushed and had ample time in the cave to walk the 1km of the cave that is open to this tour.
A delicious lunch was laid out for us between both cave tours. After lunch, we took a boat trip upriver to the mouth of the Phong Nha cave. Once the roof canopy of the boat was removed to make views inside the cave better our boat operators expertly guided the boat manually inside the cave which an amazing experience and very relaxing.
We would definitely recommend this full-day tour; really good value
This was the highlight of my 2 week Vietnam trip- it was so beautiful to walk through the jungle, and caving was really really rewarding. The swim was particularly lovely and memorable. I was on the brink of my comfort zone but felt safe. The food was great, and the staff (our leader was Dong) were all really proactive. I perhaps should have done a bit more of my own research about how to get to Hanoi, as I didn't realize there was a cheap and quick flight from Dong Hoi. Nevertheless, I'm so glad I did this trip and it's a wonderful change from the hustle and bustle of the city
Very good guide, drinks, and food! Very cozy and a bit of relaxing time away from the big city. Go for it :-)

amazing experience
It was a full day trip beginning at 8 and ended at 5. Kim was our tour guide and he was very enthusiastic and helpful throughout the journey. Expect to make stops before reaching the Mekong Delta itself. Kim shared a lot of stories about the place and history as well, making the trip rather engaging and interesting. We also got to see what the locals do at the Mekong Delta. Toilet breaks in between were sufficient and the lunch that was included was quite decent.
