Painful Memories, but educational

This is an interesting place, but raised many bad feelings for me. As we walked around and saw what the soldiers did to fight this was and survive it was hard to imagine how miserable it must have been. They did a very good job of showing how the tunnels were built and how they managed to keep them hidden. They also showed a lot about the tactics used against the "enemy". We came here as part of a tour to see a couple of places, but really did not want to do this part of the tour in particular. War is a horrible thing and I do not relish seeing how it is fought. I suppose for those that did not live through these horrific times it is educational, but for me was just more painful memories.

Excellent visit to historic site

This was a very interesting if not a tad long winded tour through the site - examples of bamboo traps, tunnels, air holes, ammunition, and you can crawl through a section of tunnel as well. Our guide was easily understood. A bit of ‘hands on’ experiences with the ability to drop into a tunnel, crawl through sections and even shoot a few rounds of ammunition ( at a price!) The tour ends in a covered hut with some green tea and taro with peanuts.

Worth the trip

It's a bit of a way out from Saigon, but worth the trip even though you are not going to spend a huge amount of time there. It can get busy and we did have to wait to see some things. The tunnels obviously cover a huge area, so you only see a small part (but then most of it was underground...). Even though there was a map, I don't think that I really appreciated how big it was though. Probably the over-riding memory was the video presentation that kept emphasising that they just wanted to kill Americans... It was good to take the short journey on our hands and knees through one of the tunnel systems - even if it had been enlarged to accommodate Westerners!

A living History which can be experienced

An education as well as an experience if you are at all interested in history and struggle of Vietnam. A guide is a must to get the most from your visit and to be rewarded with an impactful visit not to be forgotten.

First experience moving the dark tunnel

The first impression is to be difficult to breathe in and out, this place has meeting room, kitchen and hospital with the rudimental equipments , all of things cover by dark and cold atmosphere. I remember i had to blink my eyes to adapt the light ouside its.
