Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Morning:

- Arrive at Hanoi airport.

- Pick up at the meeting point by our tour guide and listen to short briefing

- Transfer directly to the hotel in Hanoi.

- Spend leisure time while waiting for lunch

Afternoon/ Night:

- Have options to watch cultural shows such as Water Puppet Show and Vietnamese Cooking Class or Foodie Tours, which are presented through links below:

+ Water Puppet Show : Try delicious Hanoi Street food such as: Banh Mi, Bun Cha, Banh Cuon, Egg Coffee…. Also discover unique places that are not in your guidebook

+ Vietnamese Cooking Class Half Day : Experience bargaining skills when going to the market to buy tasty condiments. Then, try your own cooking accompanied with our tour guide to finish the non-vegetarian and vegetarian Vietnamese dishes.

Day 2: Hanoi Biking Full Day - night train to Lao Cai

Morning:

- Breakfast at the hotel.

- Picked up by our tour guide from the hotel at around 7:30 to go to the bike shop, where you can choose your bike for today’s tour.

- Cycle through the crowded streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarters, pass the Red River on Long Bien Bridge.

- Following the path along the dyke of the Red River, visit the Ancient House in Bat Trang Pottery Village.

- Visit a local pottery workshop and learn the origin of Bat Trang Village as well as the process of making a ceramic product. Make your own pottery product in the workshop!

- Have lunch at a local restaurant in a new urban area of Eco Park.

- Visit an interesting and mysterious Bonsai Garden, the garden of sophisticated tree sculpting.

- Stop by the Red River Pottery Market of Quang Ba, where ceramics are stacked waiting to be taken into Hanoi by bicycle. You will pass the Red River’s floating houses and fields of colorful flowers...

Afternoon:

- Get back to the bike shop and our tour guide will get a taxi and escort you to the hotel which is closed to the railway station

- Take a rest before the night train.

Night:

- Pick up at the hotel for transfer to Hanoi train station for night train to Lao Cai at around 20:00.

- The overnight train trip to Lao Cai is shared sleeping compartments (sharing with other passengers in 2 lower & 2 upper berths per compartment). The train departs at approximately 21:15.

Activities:
- Full day exploring Hanoi attractions by bicycle.

- Have leisure time relaxing on the overnight train trip to Lao Cai.

- Our tour guide will not accompany you during the train trip - Train schedules are subject to change. - Private compartments on request at a surcharge. - Train journeys are part of a great local experience. Cabins are shared with other local passengers (unless a private cabin is requested and all berths paid for - with supplement). Restrooms at either end of the carriages complete the local experience.

Day 3: Lao Cai – Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van

Morning/ Afternoon:

- Arrive at Lao Cai train station at around 5:30 - 6:00.

- Pick up by our driver from the train station for the transfer to Sapa on the tourists shared bus.

- Relax and have breakfast at the hotel until the tour guide comes to pick you up for the tour today.

- Pick up by the local tour guide at around 9:30 and starts the trekking.

- Trek to Y Linh Ho village settled down by the Muong Hoa River and to the Black H’mong village of Lao Chai and spending time exploring these two villages.

- Trek to Ta Van village (1.200 m) to visit Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam.

- Return to Sapa by car.

Night:

- Free at leisure the rest of the day. Overnight at Sapa Hotel.

- Trek to Y Linh Ho village in Lao Chai.

- Trek to Ta Van village to visit Zay people.

- Spend leisure time relaxing in Sapa.

Day 4: Sapa – Cat Cat – Sin Chai – Lao Cai – Hanoi

Morning:

- Have breakfast at the hotel, then check out.

- pick up by our tour guide for the tour at around 9:00.

- Take a walk down to the South-west of Sapa to visit Cat Cat Village of the Black H’mong, one of the more well-known ethnic villages of Sapa.

- Enjoy the stunning waterfall, the vestige of a hydroelectric power station that was constructed by the French during colonial time in Vietnam.

- Have a picnic lunch by the side of the river.

Afternoon:

- Continue to trek 3 km to Sin Chai Village, which is located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain - “the Roof of Indochina”, where you enjoy the stunning landscapes of the mountain.

- Come back to the main road to get the transfer back to Sapa town on a jeep for 3km.

Night:

- Transferred to Hanoi by sharing a limousine.

Day 5: Hanoi – Halong Bay - overnight on board

Morning:

- Have breakfast at the hotel in Hanoi.

- Pick up by our driver for the transfer to Halong Bay.

- Welcomed by the boat crew, then check-in.

- Enjoy delicious local seafood lunch served on board.

Afternoon:

- Some activities on the boat to discover the beauty of the bay such as visiting a cave, kayaking, or swimming in the sea depending on each cruise’s itinerary of the day.

Night:

- Get back to the junk, relax and have dinner. Overnight on board.

Day 6: Ha Long Bay

Day 7: Halong Bay – Hanoi – take flight to Hue

Morning:

- Get up early to take part in Tai Chi lesson, or just simply watch the beautiful sunrise over the bay.

- Have breakfast on the cruise.

- Explore the most stunning caves in Halong.

- Enjoy the early lunch, while the cruise gets back to the main dock.

Afternoon:

- Get back to the main dock then get a transfer to the airport to catch flight to Hue once.

- Pick up by our tour guide on arrival.

Night:

- Check in the hotel in Hue.

- Relax for the rest of the day.

- Get a flight to Hue.

Day 8: Half day cycling to explore Thuy Bieu village

Morning/ Afternoon:

- Have breakfast at the hotel.

- Pick up by our tour guide then transfer to Toa Kham wharf for cruising on Perfume River.

- Stop at Thien Mu Pagoda, a historic temple and the symbol of Hue romantic city.

- Continue cruising to Hue Ecolodge, visit Thuy Bieu Eco-village, an authentic village representing the countryside of Hue.

- Getting on the bike then visit handicraft families including the incense-making family, the joss paper-making family, and the paper painting family to learn about the daily life of local people.

- Relax by steeping foot into medicinal herb water which is a traditional therapeutic practice.

Night:

- Go back to the hotel in the City Center and spend time relaxing.

- Discover Thien Mu pagoda while cycling to explore Thuy Bieu Eco-village.

- Spend leisure time relaxing in medical herb water.

Day 9: Motorbiking to Hoi An Via Hai Van pass

Morning:

- Have breakfast at the hotel.

- Picked up by our tour guide at your hotel to go to Hoi An.

- Travel by motorcycle on highway 1A from Hue to Hoi An then stop at the fishing village and paddies fields along the lagoon.

- Visit Elephant Waterfall where you can swim and relax.

- Stop at Lang Co Beach where you can take photos and have lunch.

Afternoon:

- Travel over the Hai Van Pass.

- Crossing the top of the Pass, which is surrounded by clouds on one side against stunning ocean views on the other. On the Top of Hai Van pass also the borderline between Hue and Danang city.

Night:

- Arrive at Hoi An in the early evening.

Activities:
- Transfer from Hue to Hoi An by motorbike.

- Crossing Hai Van Pass while admiring the magnificent view between mountain and sea.

- Arrive Hoi An and spend time relaxing at the hotel at night.

Day 10: Half day cycling tour in Hoi An

Morning:

- Have breakfast at the hotel.

- Picked up by our driver from your hotel, then ride over the bridge to the peaceful countryside of Cam Kim Island.

- Cycle through the lush scenery of rice paddies and farmland on the way to the island.

- Stop along the way to chat with farmers

- Visit a local family in Duy Vinh and learn about their traditional sedge mattress weaving.

- Continue cycling to the local house for lunch.

Afternoon/ Night:

- Transfer back to the hotel.

- Spend leisure time relaxing and exploring Hoi An by yourself.

Day 11: Hoi An foodie tour

Morning/ Afternoon:

- Spend leisure time relaxing and discovering Hoi An by yourself.

- Prepare for the foodie tour in the late afternoon.

Night:

- Join a walking foodie tour to discover Hoi An cuisine and culture.

- The tour starts around sunset then introduces local cafes, food stalls, markets, and restaurants.

- Taste many Hoi An traditional dishes on the tour, including Banh Mi, Cao Lau, Banh Beo, Banh Khot...

- Try Balut, one of the top 10 weird foods in the world, and local coffee, an authentic Vietnamese coffee, famous for its mix of strong drip coffee and sweet condensed milk.

- Have free time to explore the Ancient Town at night or go back to the hotel.

Day 12: Danang - Hoi An - Ho Chi Minh City

Morning:

- Take a domestic flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

- Transfer to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

Afternoon:

- Discover the bustling lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh City by Scooter motorbike.

- Pick up by our tour guide at 13:00 on a restored vintage Vespa scooter.

- Travel on the off-the-beaten-path of Saigon. While on the back of the scooter, you will cruise through the bustling streets to see the sites that you would never find on your own.

- Learn about small family businesses in the big city, where the Chinese community and their influence on medicine, Vietnamese customs & religion, and more.

-Stop at a hidden relaxing Buddhist Pagoda which has yet to be found by other tourists. The tour ends around 18:30.

- Dropped off at your hotel.

- Have dinner on your own.

Day 13: Cu chi Tunnel tour by speedboat

Morning:

- Explore the Cu Chi tunnel by speedboat.

- Our tour guide meets you in the hotel lobby then transfers you to Bach Dang Pier in District 1 at 7:00.

- Depart Saigon by boat at 7:20. There, you can enjoy a light breakfast of sandwiches or pastries, fresh tropical fruits, and Vietnamese iced coffee (Ca phe sua da) while the tour guide explains rural traditions and aspects of riverbank life.

- Arrive at the Cu Chi Tunnels site at 8:50, which is still less touristy, and you can watch a brief introductory ‘propaganda’ video to the Cu Chi area.

- Explore the Cu Chi at 9:00, including weapon and booby trap exhibitions, and navigate the authentic Viet Cong tunnel.

- Visit different underground bunkers such as kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunition, etc.., and try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.

- Enjoy a delicious traditional Vietnamese lunch by the river. The lunch includes authentic fried spring rolls, chicken and beef dishes, and soup.

Afternoon:

- Depart Cu Chi and return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Night:

- Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 14: Ho Chi Minh - Tan Phong Island - Mekong Eco-lodge

Morning:

- Have breakfast at the hotel.

- Pick from the hotel for the transfer to Cai Be at 8:00.

- Welcomed by our local guide on arrival and invited some fresh fruits

- Embark on a boat to visit the floating market of rice in An Cu commune, Cai Be district, which is the largest exporter of rice trading in the Southwest region of Vietnam.

-Visit the ancient village of Dong Hoa Hiep commune and Cai Be floating market. From there, we keep traveling to Tan Phong islet and Hai Yen bee Farm.

- Visit a big flower garden where bees produce honey on the farm, enjoy fresh honey tea and learn more about bee's life.

- Visit Linhzhi mushroom area, try to pull fish hooves, experience the monkey bridges.

- Stop is the orchard of Ms. Hang, where you can enjoy the fruits in the garden picked by yourselves and listen to Vietnamese folk music named "Tai Tu Music".

- Get on the rowing boat to travel along small canals.

- Arrive and check in the Mekong Eco-lodge, have lunch at the restaurant.

Afternoon:

- Join with locals in their daily activities such as “ditch fishing hook”.

- Catch fish of the Mekong which will be served for your dinner.

- Help our local chefs of homestay to prepare dishes for dinner.

Night:

- Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at Tan Phong homestay.

Day 15: Tan Phong Island - Ho Chi Minh

Morning:

- Wake up early in the morning in Mekong Ecolodge, enjoy the fresh air and listen to the sound of birds and other countryside sounds, stroll around the village and see the local farmer get busy with their morning work.

- Have breakfast at the homestay, cycle around Tan Phong Island.

- Visit traditional handicraft workshops.

- Take part in some activities with local people such as making rice paper, making roofs from nipa leaves, and water hyacinth products, making jackfruit leaf cake, knitting banana hammock...

- Cycling back to the homestay then check out, say goodbye to our friendly host.

- Get on the ferry to the Harbor.

- Transfer directly to the hotel by our driver.

- Have lunch at a local restaurant on the way back to Ho Chi Minh City.

- Spend leisure time relaxing in Ho Chi Minh City.
